The Rehabilitation Science program prepares students who will assume leadership, policy, and research roles in the rehabilitation field, including occupational science professionals, health services researchers, disability program managers or producers, and care coordinators. Graduates of this program will have a strong foundation in studying human function and participation and its relationship to health and well-being. The PhD in Rehabilitation Medicine and Physical Therapy program prepares professional faculty with the competencies needed for research-bedded, interdisciplinary, and kinesiology have irritation scholarship that will significantly influence current debates over treatment effectiveness, effectiveness vs efficiency, cost, accessibility and equity. It Is designed to provide an excellent scientific foundation and develop a depth of knowledge critical for professional excellence in the field. The curriculum is designed primarily for individuals interested in research careers in rehabilitation science. The program provides basic and applied research methods, evaluation, design of experiments, statistical analysis, writing scientific manuscripts, grant preparation and presentation skills. Students completing the two-year PhD in Rehabilitation Medicine and Physical Therapy program will have developed a depth of knowledge in the theoretical bases of rehabilitation science knowledge essential to developing theories, models, and interventions designed to enhance rehabilitation. They also have developed both breadth and depth of knowledge about conducting research investigations to answer theoretical questions.

The candidates should have completed MBBS or its equivalent qualification from a medical institution recognised by the Medical Council of India / State Medical Councils in India and possess a Provisional MBBS Certificate (PG or Super specialisation pass a/o written test) issued by the respective State / Central competent authority by the provisions of the IMC Act, 1956. A license shall be granted by the state licensing authority in respect of each qualification or part thereof, recognised under the act and awarded by any foreign medical institution, university, board or body. The internship duration should be at least one year and not more than two years and eight months. Interns work under specialists, registered medical practitioners or any other clerks/ officers authorised by the concerned authority. During the internship, interns acquire practical knowledge on diagnosis, treatment, dispensation and management in an institution like a hospital, including ward management. Applicants who have achieved a minimum of 50 percentile in NEET PG (40 percentile for SC/ST/OBC (including PWD of SC/ST/OBC)/ 45 percentile for UR PWD)/ AIIMS PG (40 percentile for SC/ST/OBC PWD) are now eligible to get counselling and admission in MD, MS & DM programs.
