The average pediatric surgeon makes $230,000 per year, according to the AMGA, not too far off from the wages of general surgeons. This figure can vary on several factors, including where you work and what kind of practice you set up. The analysis supports the hypothesis that paediatricians are consistently working fewer hours than previously reported, and indicates that 40-44 hours per week at the time of the survey was typical.
