The PhD course is an independent investigation of a problem of contemporary significance in the relevant field of Medical Oncology. The candidate will have to register initially as a regular student and then according to rules prescribed for him/her by the PhD Committee, take up different phases of the work for his/her thesis, carry out the study and finally submit his/her thesis after authentication by Examination Committee constituted by the University generally comprising of two experts from outside Kerala University and one representative from Kerala University whose membership shall be finalised by Department of Medical Oncology, Kannur Medical college.D. in Medical Oncology course spreads across 6 Semesters (Duration 3 years). Question Papers of Stages will contain Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) based on all subjects of MD/MS/MDS/M.Sc Entrance Examination. These papers will be divided into 2 sections i.e. Section A & Section B for each subject as mentioned below:
Stage 1 Multiple Choice questions are MCQs for 30 Marks. This section is based on General English, with errors of grammar, reading comprehension, verbal reasoning and calculating ability. Total marks (Stage I + II): 70 marks – 120 minutes. Candidates are required to appear in the Stage– I exam by all departments on a common date and time, at the place mentioned in the notification. The Stage-II examination is to be undertaken by the departmental schedules. Total Marks 60 with 1 Mark each. The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by the CBSE/Central Board of Secondary Education to assess the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Assistant Professor only in Indian universities.

When you apply, you will need to upload your mark sheet and a certificate for an English-medium school or a Bachelor's degree with proof of SC/ST/OBC (if applicable) from the appropriate authority of the Post Graduate Medical Institute.
