MD- Blood Transfusion is a 3-year full-time course for which applicants should have acquired an MBBS degree with a minimum of 50% marks and a mandatory  1- year internship/house-surgeoncy from a Medical Council of India (MCI) recognised institution. Some of the premier institutes also conduct an entrance examination followed by counselling for admission. The main job sectors for a practitioner who completed MD-Blood Transfusion are, govt. healthcare services, hospitals, colleges & universities, military services and private clinics as blood bank technologist, clinical associate, laboratory auxiliary specialist, professor, medical officer etc.
