D.M. CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY is a 3-year full-time course that begins every July. This course, offered jointly by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) and the National Institute of Psychotherapy and Applied Neurosciences (NIPANS), is designed to train an aspiring child. Adolescent psychiatrists specialised training by clinical, academic and research standards. This 3-years course follows a problem-solving approach for the treatment and, apart from the core psychiatric doctrines, teaches young psychiatrists to provide care for adolescent disorders and their adult counterparts. The objective of this course is to train young graduates to become child Psychiatrists and Child Psychologists. The study's primary aim is to impart knowledge and hands-on training in the clinical aspects of the direct speciality service in Neuro Sciences Hospital, Bangalore, in a conducive learning environment with didactic teaching sessions, case presentations, conferences, seminars, extension field visits etc. The course's curriculum includes intensive training in all significant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Disciplines such as Child Psychology, Psychopharmacology, General Medicine and Neurology.

The Foundation Medical Training (DM) and Postdoctoral Diploma (PDF) courses are intended for Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, which will prepare them for work in various settings. The system incorporates scholarly handicap into every one of the modules. This course is suited to redesign the understudies' learning of principles and methods in preparing Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) for scholarly handicap in varied settings.
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) training course go about as a turning point in your vocation. ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR PG SPECIALTY IN DOCTOR OF MEDICINE AND CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY
When you have completed your higher education, you are invited to apply for a position in D.M. Psychiatry at the National Hospital Trust Fund Society (NHTF). The place is usually on a contract basis to fill vacancies and may be permanent depending on the circumstances. Several migrants from other states in India come to Kerala for pursuing Medical Education. All such students must apply to the Medical Council of India to recognise their qualifications and get issued a 'Migration Certificate'. In this certificate, the MCI has specified the minimum qualifications required for the applicant (by name) to practice as a doctor in India. The applicant has to apply through his/her University and seek such a certificate on their own.
