Physiology is the systematic study of roles and mechanisms in a living being..

Physiology is the systematic study of roles and mechanisms in a living being. As a faction of biology, physiology concentrates on how cells, biomolecules, individual organs, organ systems and organisms perform the normal physical and chemical activities in a living body. According to the types of living beings, this area can be classified into the cell, animal, plant, comparative and medical physiology of which the course focuses on the latter. Vital to physiological processes are biophysical and biochemical processes, signalling between cells and homeostatic regulatory mechanisms. The physiological status is the state of natural function, whereas the pathological status indicates unusual circumstances like human illnesses. MD Physiology subject incorporates individual anatomy and physiology includes anatomical jargons,  cells and tissues, fundamental skeletal, muscular, digestive, cardiovascular, reproductive, endocrine, nervous, urinary, immune and respiratory systems. In this course, scholars learn topics regarding common human illnesses. They also read non-science subjects and related-health topics. In this subject, pupils will learn to cultivate their knowledge of the function and composition of the principal systems of the human body. Students after completing the MD physiology classes may get breaks in scientific fields like research hubs and educational organisations,  biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies, the government health services,  some technoscientific fields like critical care science, neurophysiology, audiology, respiratory physiology, gastrointestinal physiology, cardiac sciences, sleep physiology, critical care science etc. These specialists may get chances in non-scientific sectors like banks and other financial institutes,  manufacturing consultancies, defense forces, law and accountancy firms, retail companies etc.

During the course of the MD program, the scholars will study the fundamentals of human physiology, will learn how to give proper lectures and manage all the haematology and human practices with stress on methods like spirometry, blood pressure recording, EMG, NCV, ECG, BERA, treadmill testing etc. which will help them to follow medicine better. Along with these students are equipped to form a research topic, compose a study and write an exposition with the measures required to publish research essays. This course also incorporates some laboratory portions like dissection, anatomical studies using microscopy, and study of physiological theories through experimentation. In this study, some major topics covered are the brain and spinal cord, blood vessels, bones and joints, skin, internal organs etc. Major subjects covered in the curriculum are general physiology, paediatrics physiology of excitable tissue, endocrinology including diabetology, neurophysiology, ophthalmology, clinical biochemistry, dissertation,  special science, haematology,  blood clinical pathology, community medicine, medical gastroenterology, endocrinology and metabolism, urology and excretory system.

MD Physiology is a 3-year full-time course whose qualification is an MBBS degree and completion of 1-year compulsory internship from any institution recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Some of the relevant job positions offered by topmost organisations include biomedical scientist, pharmacologist, research scientist, exercise physiologist, clinical research associate, science writer, physiotherapist, healthcare scientist and therapeutic radiographer. Scholars who would like to read further can pursue a Ph.D.in  Physiology. In this course, students obtain information and experiences of Physiology. After finishing this course, scholars may get more chances in public as well as government sectors with lucrative salaries.
